Supply Chain Diagnostic

In less than ten working days, Springman Consulting can perform a detailed and comprehensive assessment of your company's supply chain. This is the perfect first step for your company to develop an overall supply chain improvement strategy. The diagnostic includes:

  • Participation in a national supply chain benchmarking study with over 80 metrics and hundreds of participants across eight major industries.
  • Surveys focused on best practices and systems employed in your company's various functional areas.
  • Expert review of your supply chain processes by our consultants.
  • Detailed reporting of your benchmark results with analysis and interpretation by our consultants.

How can it be done in such a short time?
First of all, the entire process takes 10 working days spread over 4 weeks. You are only charged for the working days. The remaining days are simply there to give time for information requests to be answered. Secondly, we rely on your organization to assemble the required data. We provide a specific list of data required and a best practices survey which you must complete. However, we don't ask for esoteric information. Your management should only need 3-4 hours to assemble the required information. Lastly, we are organized and know what to look for. We will quickly generate some initial metrics based on basic balance sheet information and spend our time exploring the areas of greatest opportunity.

How do I know I will get any benefit from the diagnostic?
Even the best performing company is going to benefit because this diagnostic is a repeatable and quantifiable measure that you can use to track your company's performance trends. Furthermore, if you provide us some basic performance metrics we can tell you if your performance suggests the opportunity for major improvement. For example, you probably have some large improvement opportunities if you meet any of the following criteria:

  • On-time delivery less than 95%.
  • Annual total inventory turns less than 5 per year.
  • Outbound transportation costs greater than 2% of sales.
